The official name for "ObamaCare" is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

It is also commonly referred to as ObamaCare, Health Care Reform, or the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

2022 Obamacare Open Enrollment is November 1, 2022 - December 15, 2022

If you didn't sign up for Qualified Health Plan (QHP) during the open enrollment period in 2021, you will have to wait until the next open enrollment date, The next open enrollment period is November 1, 2022 - December 15, 2022 for an effective date of Jan. 1, 2023 or later. Open Enrollment ends December 15, 2022.

You won't be able to get any help or subsidy on marketplace insurance until open enrollment starts on November 1, 2022, without qualifying for special enrollment (SEP). If you don't qualify for special enrollment (SEP) you can still sign up for some types of temporary (short term) private health insurance outside of the marketplace through an agent, broker or provider. Short-term or alternative plans don't have to follow the rules and regulations of ACA compliant plans and won't help you avoid the fee for not having health insurance, but they will help cover your healthcare costs and needs. Short-term plans or alternative plans, on the plus side, are almost always less expensive than unsubsidized private health plans and tend to have no waiting periods.
